제목 | Production of Valuable Compounds through the Engineered Dahms Pathway in Escherichia coli |
초록 | Dahms pathway has been engineered in Escherichia coli for the synthesis of valuable compounds. 1,2,4-Butanetriol (BTO), glycolic acid (GA), and ethylene glycol (EG) were produced by engineered E. coli with overexpressed genes and disrupted competing pathways. Production of the mentioned compounds was further enhanced by overcoming D-xylonate accumulation via different metabolic engineering and synthetic biology techniques. Enhancing GA production through co-utilization of cellobiose and D-xylose was also performed. Collectively, the ultimate goal is to extensively explore all possible solutions to create product-specialist E. coli strains that utilize D-xylose as substrate.
