The phase equilibrium data of the multi-component system is necessary for the crystallization process. These data yield fundamental information on the behavior of the system and permit to see the possibility and limitation of the process. Solubility data is essential to design melt crystallization process, but it can be very time-consuming to directly measure it. Thus, various methods are suggested to predict solubility. In this study, solid-liquid phase diagram of organic chemical ternary mixture is obtained. Melting points of the ternary system and three constituent binary systems are predicted using NRTL (Non-Random Two Liquid) method, one of the simplest prediction methods of thermodynamic properties. Parameters were fitted using experimental values to better explain the behavior of the mixture. Solubilities are determined by visual observation and thermal method using DSC. |
