Because of their high theoretical energy capacity, energy density, lithium-sulfur batteries are studied as one of next generation batteries. But, there are some obstacles blocking commercialization of lithium-sulfur batteries. Especially, shuttle effect is main challenge of lithium-sulfur batteries because it causes loss of sulfur cathode. As cathode's sulfur host, ZIF-8 and ZIF-67 have been studied to prevent dissolution of lithium polysulfide to the electrolyte. Due to similar unit cell parameters and same ligands, both MOFs can be easily synthesized as bimetallic MOF. To enhance electrochemical performance, the prepared MOF is annealed at 800°C, under Ar gas condition. To demonstrate these results, the electrochemical properties have been evaluated by various electrochemical analyzes, including cyclic voltammetry between carbonization and non-carbonization. |
