Polyhedral oligmeric silsesquioxanes (POSS) have been widely regarded as one of the promising and rapidly emerging nanoparticles in the field of organic-inorganic nanocomposite materials. The various methodologies for preparing copolymers or blends containing POSS show property enhancements via POSS such as the reduced heat evolution and flammability, altered mechanical, improved thermal property, and reduced viscosity. In this study, the monomer with two POSS groups was syntheized from malonyl dichloride and POSS-NH2. The obtained monomer was polymerized with 1,6-dibromohexane in the presence of sodium hydride to produce new organic-inorganic hybrid polymers with two symmetrical POSS in the side chain. The composition, structure, and morphology of the organic-inorganic hybrid polymers were studied by SEM, TGA, DSC, NMR and FT-IR. |
