In this study, chitosan microgels were prepared by spray-drying method. And, microgels were crosslinked by glutaraldehyde. Chitosan to glutaraldehyde ratio in chitosan microgels was 1:0.08, and 1:0.67, respectively. They were characterized by scanning electron microscopy (SEM), fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FT-IR), swelling test and release property. The swelling ratio and release property were observed in different pH.chitsoan microgel(1:0.08) showed a pH-sensitive release through diffusion or squeezing-out mechanism. On the other hand, chitsoan microgel(1:0.67) showed a pH-insensitive release due to a high cross-linking density. |
