Preparation and Characterization of Fe3O4 Nanoparticle-embedded Paraffin@Polyurea Nanocapsules |

Solid-liquid phase change materials (PCM) have capacities to release, retain, and absorb latent heat energy at a specific temperature when their state alters. To use this latent heat energy practically and repeatedly, encapsulated PCM have been used for various heat storage applications. However, this PCM requires to be encapsulated using a suitable technique that can porvide high wall integrity and stability. Furthermore, It has a low thermal conductivity compare to nature PCM. In this study, Fe3O4 nanoparticle-embedded PCM nanocapsules fabricated from poly(4-styrenesulfonic acidcomaleic acid) sodium salt, tolylene diisocyanate, and ethylene diamine with various amount of Fe3O4 nanoparticles were prepared by interfacial polycondensation reaction. Two types of Fe3O4 nanoparticles which would play an important role of offering magnetic functionality and thermal control to the PCM nanocapsules were used in order to embed in PCM nanocapsules. |
