Penetrating skin barrier is being studied by biological and industrial applications. In this study, we present an advanced strategy to self-assemblies designed to penetrate the skin barrier without damage. First, we synthesized poly(amino acid)s derivative substituted with octadecyl chains and cell-penetrating peptides. Trans-activator of Transcription (TAT), one of the cell-penetrating peptides were used in this study to decorate the surface of the self-assembled nanoparticles. In addition, the effects of polarity on skin absorption was examined by comparing of poly(amino acid)’s backbone, specifically, poly(aspartic acid) and poly(2-amino-2-hydroxyethyl aspartamide) (PHEA). The effect of the morphology of self-assembled nanoparticles on skin cell penetrating was confirmed by controlling the degree of substitution. Overall, the new strategy to prepare the bio-inspired cell-penetrating nanoparticles would be useful to deliver effective ingredients in cosmetics into skin directly. |
