제목 Dual Monitoring of Cracking and Healing in Self-healing Coatings using Microcapsules Loaded with Two Fluorescent Dyes
초록 We report the development of an extrinsic self-healing coating system that does not fluoresce in an intact coating. Cracked areas exhibit yellow fluorescence and healed areas exhibit green fluorescence, allowing for separate monitoring of cracking and healing of the coating. This fluorescence monitoring self-healing system consists of a top coating, an epoxy matrix resin containing mixed dyes loaded into a single microcapsule, which consists of MAT-PDMS plus styrene, a photo initiator and a mixture of two dyes.

The capsule containing the healing agent consists of a poly(urea-formaldehyde) shell, so when the self-healing coating embedded with the microcapsules containing the DCM/4-TPAE dye mixture is scratched, the damaged area will change from yellow to green after healing. Because it changes, it is suitable for use in self-healing systems.
