제목 Simple synthesis of Ruthenium doped MoO2 sphere by using spray pyrolysis with high activity and stability for hydrogen evolution reactions over a universal pH range
초록 Electrochemical water splitting is an economic and sustainable way to produce H2 through the hydrogen evolution reaction (HER). Ru-based catalyst is very efficient with a desirable cost for HER. Doping Ru with transition metal oxides has been shown to significantly enhance the activity and durability of HER even with small amounts of ruthenium. Recent literatures reported that Ru on the MoO2 layers have better HER than RuO2 because of significantly improved H2O adsorption. A spray pyrolysis method can produce rapidly large-scale production of uniformly mixed elements in spherical particles. In this study, we synthesized ruthenium doped MoO2 spheres using ultrasonic spray pyrolysis method in various temperature from 600 oC to 800 oC. Ru-doped MoO2 sphere which prepared at 800 oC exhibited the excellent catalytic activity and stability in universal pH range. We also confirmed that H2O adsorption was increased in Ru-doped MoO­2. This research can provide a new strategy to synthesize highly active catalysts for HER over a universal pH range.
