We demonstrate a simple generic principle of constructing multifunctional surface, which is the biomimic of Moth-eye and wing of butterfly and cicada, based on a self-assembly of nanoparticles on the substrate. Using the self-assembled nanoparticle, we can control the structural dimension of nanoparticles using various surface treatments such as plasma, UVOzon, and flourinted polymer. Based on the periodic surface nanostructures of transparent substrate, first, the reflection of incident light can be reduced based on the gradient of refractive index of surface. Second, using the size reduced nanoparticles on surface, we can generate the periodic nanonetwork of metal which can selectively reflect the NIR wavelength that can help to reduce the surface tempature. This multifunctional component using self-assembled nanoparticles will be easily applicable in various functional devices such as optical and opto-electrical devices with easy, cost-effective fabrication, and enhanced functional properties. |
