Facile preparation of electrorheological fluids with introduction of graphene oxide sheets and their electro-responsive properties |
초록 |
Electrorheological (ER) fluids consisting of graphene oxide (GO) sheets are fabricated by a solvent exchange method which is a facile strategy to prepare highly stable dispersion of particles. GO sheets dispersed in commercial silicone oil are fabricated to conduct an investigation into the electro-responsive characteristics. Electrostatic repulsion between oxygen-containing functional groups on GO sheets provides high stability to as-prepared ER fluids, enhancing anti-sedimentation properties than that of the fluid containing mechanically ground GO. Being prepared by a modified Hummers’ method, GO sheets with a high surface area show electrostatic interactions under high electric field, resisting deformation against shear flow even at a low concentration (less than 1 wt%). |
