Charge Transport Anisotropy of Triisopropylsilylethynyl Pentacene Single Crystal with Co-facial Molecular Stacking |

In this study, we reported the anisotropic charge transport characteristics with the molecular packing of triisopropylsilylethynyl pentacene (TIPS PEN) which is a high performance semiconductor material. For this experiment, TIPS PEN single crystal was made by using the solvent-exchange method in the solution phase. From the experimental results, the mobility along [100] and [010] was 0.6-1.2 and 0.06-0.14 cm2/Vs, and the mobility anisotropy ratio was about 7. From the calculation, we revealed that there were the various kinds of packing type in TIPS PEN single crystal according to the degree of intermolecular π-orbital overlap and the mobility anisotropy was originated by the sequence of the packing types. |
