It was reported that the reaction of phenylsulfonylnitromethane with aldehyde gave β,γ-unsaturated nitrosulfone via tandem nitroaldol and dehydration. Interestingly the isomerization of α,β-unsaturated nitrosulfone to β,γ-unsaturated nitrosulfone was observed. In this paper, we investigated the formation and isomerization of double bond in β,γ-unsaturated nitrosulfone prepared from phenylsulfonylnitromethane and various aldehydes. The reactions of similar compounds with phenylsulfonylnitromethane were also compared to check the influence on the formation and isomerization of their double bonds. |
