Fabrication and Characterization of Thin Film Composite Membrane containing Sulfonted Poly(arylene ether) for Desalination. |
초록 |
Thin film composited membranes (SPSxx-BP) with sulfonated poly(aylene ether) sulfone random copolymer, were coated on microporous support membrane. These materials were deposited from hydrophilic solvents but very thin (<100 nm) films on porous support membranes, giving high-flux membranes (1.30 L/m2hbar). The salt rejection and water permeability of the SPS40-BP membranes are controlled by varying degree of sulfonation (DS) of sulfonated poly(arylene ether sulfone) copolymer from 40% to 80% in order to achieve desirable desalination properties. SPSxx-BP membranes show the increase in NaCl rejection with decreasing DS (26.3 ~58.6%), while water permeability declines due to the decrease of hydrophilicity (1.3 ~0.1 L/m2hbar). |
