Novel conjugated copolymers (DTDFQx, DTFQx), which were synthesized through palladium catalyzed the stille coupling reaction were composed of di- or mono- fluorinated quinoxaline (Qx) as electron-deficient acceptor. Thiophene was used as a more electron-rich donor. Quinoxaline-based copolymers with two different side chains had variable results from the solubility, thermal properties, absorption spectra, energy levels, and photovoltaic propertises. Among them, the polymers containing Hexyl alkyl side chain were insoluble in common types of organic solvents. The polymer solar cell device introducing dodecyl alkyl side chain into polymer showed a high open circuit voltage (VOC) of 0.87eV and efficiency value over 2.0% was obtained for the resulting copolymers. |
