Extensive efforts have been devoted to increasing the specific capacitance or energy density of electrochemical capacitors (ECs), by using pseudocapacitive metal oxides, which show higher capacitance than carbonaceous materials. Recently, an increasing amount of studies have been focused on the natural abundant and low cost transition-metal oxide MnO2 which reveals a high energy density due to its low cost and pseudocapacitive effect. However, MnO2 has a poor cycle life than that of the carbonaceous materials when used as ECs electrodes. Therefore, it is expected to enhance cycle stability by supporting MnO2 with carbon tube while maintaining the pseudocapacitive effect of the metal oxides. In this study, manganese oxides supported by carbon materials were fabricated and their electrochemical performances were investigated. |
