제목 Preparation and characterization of hydroxyapatited silk fibroin particles by controlling pH
초록 Hydroxyapatite (HA) has been widely used in various medical applications including orthopedic and dental surgery due to its good features, such as excellent biocompatibility, bioaffinity and osteoconductivity. However HA cannot be used in the heavy load bearing application independently due to its brittleness. Therefore, recently prospective methods have been introduced to grow HA crystals with better properties by using an organic template. Particularly, silk fibroin has attracted many attentions in the relevant area because of its outstanding mechanical properties and biocompatibility. In this work, we successfully prepared silk fibroin particles coated with HA by mineralization at various pH. Additionally, the effect of pH was confirmed by the different nucleation and morphology of HA on SF particles. Overall, HA-coated SF particles are potential materials for bone related applications such as bone defect filler and implants.
