Targeted delivery of Doxorubicin-Utilizing O-carboxymethyl Chitosan Nanoparticles with PEGylated Folate |

Doxorubicin (DOX) conjugated O-carboxymethyl chitosan (OCMCh) nanoparticle was synthesized by dimethylmaleate bond between DOX and OCMCh (OCM-MD). Folate (FA) was conjugated to OCM-MD conjugate nanoparticles via PEGylation of PEG terminal group linking of the resulted amines to OCMCh-C6 position (FA-PEG-OCM-MD). Conjugation was confirmed by Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FT-IR), and 1H nuclear magnetic resonance spectroscopy (1H NMR) studies. Dynamic light scattering (DLS) was used to characterize the nanoparticles. In-vitro antitumor test of OCM-MD and FA-PEG-OCM-MD nanoparticles against HeLa cell. These results suggest that FA-PEG-OCM-MD can be applied to design cancer therapeutics. |
