In-situ Generated n-type Conjugated Polymer Nanoparticles for All-Polymer Solar Cells |

Organic solar cells have attracted great attention because of their strong competitiveness against conventional inorganic solar cells. All-polymer solar cells are understood as an ultimate goal even though polymer:fullerene solar cells still exhibit higher efficiencies. However, all-polymer solar cells are suffered from too intimate well-mixing between p-type and n-type polymers, leading to large charge blocking resistances. Although the improved efficiency has been reported by choice of solvents and annealing treatment, these methods cannot be a clear resolution because the phase-segregated domains and/or their interfaces could be continuously affected by solar light illumination. Hence we have recently developed stable n-type polymer nanoparticles that are in-situ generated upon polymerization in solvents. This presentation will report the detailed methods and results for the in-situ generated n-type polymer nanoparticles and their applications for all-polymer solar cells. |
