제목 Nucleic acid engineering for diagnostic applications
초록 In this talk, I will introduce the major research outcomes that I have recently discovered. The first part of this talk will describe a simple, cost-effective method to generate DNA-templated copper nanoparticles (DNA-CuNPs) with enhanced fluorescence stability and its application for cellular imaging. The method does not involve any chemicals other than copper sulfate and ascorbate. This new approach for generating DNA-CuNPs improves imaging of biological processes and provides a basis for developing other types of DNA-templated nanomaterials. The next part of this talk will present the works utilizing extracellular vesicles (EVs) that function as reliable surrogates of their originating cells for non-invasive diagnosis of cancers. Specifically, a general approach to quantify EVs that do not require the expensive reagents and washing steps will be discussed. In addition, the investigation of mRNA markers in EVs for the accurate diagnosis of colorectal cancers will be presented.
