제목 Electrochemical Behaviors of Metal Nanoparticles Deposited on Electrical Conducing Polymer Substrates
초록 Direct methanol fuel cells are promising candidates for the next generation of power sources for portable electronic devices. A widely used supporting material of catalysts is a carbon, on which metallic nanoclusters should be well dispersed to minimize a metal loading. On the other hand, electrical conducting polymers could also be functioned as the suitable host matrices for dispersing metallic particles. In this study, electrical-conducting polyaniline powders was selected as catalyst supports to overcome the low electronic conductivity problem, and Pt-Ru nanoparticles were deposited on the support substrates. The deposited particle sizes and contents were studied to find an optimal condition to prepare the metal nanoparticles having a superior catalytic activity. The prepared metal catalysts on supports were examined to evaluate their use to improve the electrochemical properties of oxidizing the methanol.
