Inorganic-organic hybrid materials are a new type of composite material in which the inorganic and the organic components are combined at the molecular level There has been much research on the application of these hybrid materials as functional coatings on glass and polymer substrates, because the organic part of the hybrid material can improve the adhesion between the particle and a polymer substrate, and the inorganic part can increase the hardness of the polymer. In this study, silica (H25)/vinytriethoxysilane hybrid materials were prepared by the hydrolysis and condensation reactions. The thermal conductivity, mechanical and dynamic mechanical properties of the heat-insulated composite revealed that the insulation properties increased with increasing the particle content. It also confirmed that storage modulus increased after glass transition temperature. This is assumed to be the effect of chemical bonds between the organic functional groups on the surface of silica and the PDMS. |
