제목 | Economic analysis of the hydrogen production process electrically connected to the desalination process |
초록 | Climatechange and lack of resources are getting severe issues as the world’spopulation increases. Fossil fuel has to be replaced with an environmental-friendlyenergy source, and a cost-competitive method is necessary to solve the problem.In this study, a novel method for producing hydrogen and pure watersimultaneously is proposed, which is water electrolysis processes electricallyconnected to the desalination process. The desalination process, which includestwo expanders, generates additional electricity and the electricity is suppliedto the solid oxide electrolysis cell (SOEC) process and the alkaline waterelectrolysis cell (AEC) process. Therefore, process simulation andoptimization, economic analysis, exergy analysis, and sensitivity analysis accordingto the plant capacity and the electrochemical reaction conversion are performedto verify the validity of two systems: SOEC-Desalination system and AEC-Desalinationsystem. |
