Transition metal free organic reactions arean emerging field to develop more environmentally acceptable chemical processesin chemical industry. In this sense, heterogeneous acid catalysts have been developedfor mild and efficient acid catalyzed organic reaction. Here, we demonstrate thetransition-metal-free Friedel-Craft alkylation using porous phenol sulfonicacid-formaldehyde (PSF) resin catalyst without causing any carbocationrearrangement and multi alkylation reaction. Comparing with the conventionalsolid acids, our PSF resin catalyst showed superior catalytic performance thanothers and could be recycled more than 5 times. |
