제목 | Electrochemical behavior of Solid-solution Li alloy under lean electrolyte condition for practical Lithium metal batteries |
초록 | Designing the next-generation battery system, both high energy density and guaranteed safety should be considered at the same time. Lithium metal battery, which uses lithium metal as an negative electrode was noted for the ultimate high-capacity. However, due to its intrinsic high-reactivity, constant side reaction with electrolyte occurs on the electrode surface during cycling and accelerates loss of active material and electrolyte. What is worse, the uncontrollable dendritic deposition of lithium makes inner short-circuit, which relates to safety hazards. Using the solid-solution reacting alloy, lithium got fast kinetics with their free-dispersion inside the bcc cubic Li crystals, delaying the dendritic growth. In addition, increased work function proved chemical reactivity decrease with electrolyte, which resulted in the charge transfer resistance decrease and extended battery cycle under practical lean electrolyte condition. |
