In this study, we designed a novel aromatic diamine. A new 4-fluorothiophenol substituted aromatic diamines, namely 2,2’-bis(4-fluorothiophenyl)benzidine (BFTPB) were synthesized and polycondensed with 4,4’-(hexafluotoisopropylidene)diphthalic anhydride (6FDA) to obtain new fluoronate polyimides. The structure, thermal and optical properties of the novel polyimide will be studied by FT-IR, TGA, DSC, UV-vis, 1H NMR, and 13C NMR. we are expecting that the polyimide will be improved optical transparency, dielectric constant, thermal and mechanical stabilities owing to the presence of the fluorothiobenzene side groups which will reduce inter-and intra-molecular charge transfer complex (CTC) between the electron donor (diamine) and electron acceptor (dianhydride) moieties in the polymer chain. the polyimide can be considered as promising processable and transparent high-temperature materials for applications in microelectronics and optical devices. |
