Adhesion and Proliferation Behavior of Retina Pigment Epithelial Cells on Silk Films with Various Boiling Time |
초록 |
Silk extracted from the cocoons has been used as biomaterials. These silk fibers are composed of fibroin and sericin surrounding fibroin. In case of fabricated silk film, sericin is normally removed during the degumming process because sericin is known to form fragile films. The silk films with various concentrations of sericin were fabricated by applying various boiling time (0, 20, 40 and 60). RPE cells were seeded on silk films and examined the influence on adhesion, proliferation and specific mRNA expression. This study demonstrated that produced silk films with various boiling time may serve as potential RPE cells' proliferation and structural basis for tissue engineered RPE cells. Therefore, we concluded that the silk film developed in this study has possibility of applications for future use on RPE cells.
