Bias stress induced instability of solution processed organic thin film transistor employing self-assembled semiconductor / polymer blend |

A possible solution for TIPS-pentacene based TFTs to be highly-performing hysteresis-free devices with improved uniformity is suggested by blending TIPS-pentacene and insulating poly-(methyl methacrylate) (PMMA). We introduces “vertical flowing” technique of blend solution. We demonstrate hysteresis-free TFT on glass substrate, which exhibit mobility of 0.34 ± 0.03 cm2/ V s operating at -15 V. Finally, we report on the bias stress effect of organic thin-film transistor. Positive gate bias leads to a positive shift in the threshold voltage, while the transfer curve moves to negative against negative stress. The reference TFT shows vulnerable behavior (Vth< 3 V) to negative bias stress while robust (Vth < 0.5 V) to positive bias one under stress time of up to 5000 s. The time evolution of threshold voltage is described by the stretched-exponential equation in conjunction with the time dependent analysis of subthreshold slope. |
