POSS has been known as one of the promising candidates for making organic-inorganic hybrid materials due to its outstanding thermal stability and mechanical property. In this study, organic/inorganic hybrid materials were prepared by self assembly method via ionic interaction between DMIPOSS-Cl and PAA. The detailed synthesis procedure of new hybrid materials was that polyacrylic acid was spin-coated on the surface of Si-substrate and the substrate was immersed in POSS solution with changing the concentration of the solution for ion-exchange self-assembly reaction. The composition, structure, morphology and thermal property of the synthesized hybrid materials were characterized by FT-IR, 1H-NMR, 29Si-NMR, AFM, SEM, TGA, DSC, and contact angle.
