Low-voltage organic thin-film transistors for cellular interface application |
초록 |
Organic semiconductors have received great attention due to their low process temperatures, solution-based fabrication method, compatibility with flexible substrates, and relatively low bio-toxicity. The device performance of organic electronic materials, however, is typically very sensitive to the environmental factors such as ambient moisture, oxygen levels. In this work, we fabricated hybrid thin-film transistors composed of a conjugated polymer as an active channel and sol-gel metal-oxides as a gate dielectric, for cellular interface applications employing the device susceptibility to ambient conditions. The dielectric layer with very thin and high dielectric constant offers low-voltage (below 2V) operation while the used polymer semiconductor exhibit excellent culture viability of fibroblasts. With the given low-voltage operation and decent biocompatibility, we supposed that our device platform will allow for potential applications in cell-based bio-sensors in the near future. |
