A novel conjugated polymer based on 4H-benzo[def]carbazole backbone for OLED |

Poly(2,7-carbazole) derivatives have been successfully used in polymer light-emitting diodes (PLEDs) and organic field-effect transistors (OFETs). The fluorene unit the carbazole moiety is fully aromatic, providing a better chemical and environmental stability. New poly(heptadecanyl-4H-benzo[def]carbazole) (PHBC), with complete substitution at 4-position of benzocarbazole by using alkyl groups, was prepared by Yamamoto coupling reaction. We present here the synthesis of a new conjugated polymer, PHBC. The polymer was synthesized by the Yamamoto polymerization. The structure-property relationships revealed by the present copolymers are useful for the rational design of electroactive polymers for photoelectronic applications. |
