제목 Diffusion and Thermodynamics of Nanoparticle Embedded in Polymer Thin Films
초록 Thin polymer film which is made up of polymer nanocomposite has been employed extensively in various applications. Because the viscosity and glass transition of polymer thin films influence their applicability, understanding the effects of NPs on the properties of films has been an issue of importance. Recent experiments showed that the glass transition temperature of films depends on spatial distribution and size of NPs. In this work, therefore, we perform molecular dynamics simulations to investigate how intermolecular interactions between NPs and polymers, size and spatial arrangement of NPs affect the rheological properties of polymers. We find that the intermolecular interaction is very attractive(weak) between NPs and polymers, NPs are located mostly at the film center(surface). We also find that large NPs are located at the film center and slow down the polymer diffusion significantly, while small NPs are located at the film surface and hardly affect the polymer mobility.
