Synthesis of polyimide membrane containing imidazole for PEMFC |

Perfluorinated membranes existing already do not allow to work at high temperatures(for CO poisoning) because they dehydrate and their conductivity is practically lost. Phosphoric acid could conduct proton at high temperatures and very low relative humidity by forming polyphosphoric acid network especially in polyimide containing benzimidazole. To synthesized polyimide containing benzimidazole, 4-((1H-benzoimidazol-2-ylimino)methyl)benzoic acid(BYMB) were synthesized and collected FT-IR. All these results show that by designing well-balanced polyimide containing benzimidazole doping with phosphoric acid, the efficiency of polyimide membrane as a polymer electrolyte membrane fuel cell for high temperature can be maximized. |
