제목 Iontophoretic transbuccal salmon calcitonin delivery: In vitro permeation and  in vivo hypocalcemic effect
초록 In this study, we have employed iontophoresis (ITP) to buccal peptide drug delivery and salmon calcitonin (sCT) was chosen as a model peptide drug. In vitro study has shown that flux (Js) of sCT can be enhanced by ITP and the combination of ITP with chemical enhancers dramatically enhanced Js value. In vivo study in rabbit model also has shown that the hypocalcemic effect was greater in ITP with chemical enhancers. In comparison study with other delivery methods such as nasal and i.v. injection, we could find that buccal delivery was comparable to i.v. injection in that fast onset of action. The FT-IR study and hematoxylin/eosinstaining results supported that the ITP was safe in vitro as well as in vivo.
