Synthesis and Dispersion Behavior of Ceria Nano powders by Solvothermal process |

The ceria nano powder, which has excellent oxidation and reduction ability, was synthesized by Solvothermal process. Ceria nano powders with various shapes and sizes could be synthesized by controlling the ratio of solvent. Particle size of the synthesized ceria nano powder was synthesized to a fine size of 20 nm or less and the specific surface area was found to be 84.65 m2/g at maximum. In order to prevent agglomeration and improve the dispersibility of the nano powder, the addition of polymer and pH control to the synthesized ceria powder could improve the dispersibility. When DARVAN 811D was used as a dispersing agent, it showed the best dispersion characteristics and various dispersion characteristics were confirmed according to pH. Also, when the dispersing agent and the pH control were used at the same time, the nano ceria powder having improved dispersion characteristics could be produced. |
