A series of triple-shape memory polyurethane (TSMPU) containing pendant photoresponsive moieties were synthesized from poly(propylene glycol)(PPG), 4,4’-methylene dicyclohexyl diisocyanate (H12MDI) and N,N-bis(2-hydroxyethyl) cinnamamide (BHECA). The pendant cinnamamide groups work as photoresponsive molecular switches and provide the polymer with light-induce shape memory effect (LSME) via reversible [2+2] cycloaddition cross-linking. The structure, thermal and mechanical properties of the resulting SMPU films have been investigated by Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FT-IR), ultraviolet-visible absorption spectrum (UV−vis), dynamic mechanical analysis (DMA), differential scanning calorimeter (DSC) and universal testing machine(UTM). |
