제목 Liquid crystal based double emulsion as a laser source
초록 A liquid crystal (LC) based water/oil/water emulsion has been developed using a flow focusing capillary microfluidic device. The cholesteric LC shell with a chiral dopant in the shell and a Rodamine 6G aqueous solution in the core was produced by using a double emulsion technique. The produced cholesteric LC shell had an ability to produce a laser beam which could be used for a biosensor by measuring its wavelength. The detail chiral microstructures studied with scanning electron microscopy and polarized optical microscopy were correlated with laser properties in this work.
