The effects of interaction between cobalt oxides (CoO and Co3O4) and alumina support on the catalytic properties of Co/Al2O3 catalysts have been investigated in Fischer-Tropsch synthesis (FTS). The prepared cobalt oxide nanocrystals were composed CoO(100%), CoO(70%)/Co3O4(30%), CoO(30%)/Co3O4(70%) and Co3O4(100%). The FTS performances of the Co/Al2O3 catalysts were examined in a fixed bed reactor. The catalysts were characterized by XRD, TPR, O2-titratin and H2-chemisorption. Results of TPR and O2 titration indicate that the reduction degree on the uncalcined catalysts increase with increasing CoO composition. With increasing CoO phase composition on the uncalcined catalyst, CO conversion and CH4 selectivity increased but C5+ selectivity decreased. |
