제목 | One-pot Synthesis of 4-quinolones via Iron-catalyzed Oxidative Coupling of Alcohol and Methyl Arene |
초록 | 4-Quinolones are a privileged N-heterocyclcic moiety and possess various biological activities. Moreover, it has been used as important building blocks for various quinolone and quinoline compounds, because of facile fuctionalization of their reactive center on 1,3 and 4 position. The attractive biological profile and synthetic importance encourage researchers to develop various synthetic method for this scaffold. However, most of cases required the specific substrates or aldehydes as a starting materials. Alcohols and hydrocarbons are easily available and usually supplied as a feedstock. Therefore, direct use of these substrates instead of labile aldehyde is more attractive in generality of reaction scope. Herein, we described the iron-catalyzed oxidative annulation of alcohol and methyl arene with 2-amino phenyl ketone to synthesize 4-quinolones. This method provides direct approach to synthesize 4-quinolones from less-functionalized substrates. |
