Liquid-crystalline semiconducting copolymersfor high-performance printed electronics |

The ability to control the molecular organization on surfaces of electronically active liquid-crystalline polymer semiconductors provides important opportunities to develop easy-to-process yet highly ordered supramolecular systems, and in particular to optimize their electrical and environmental reliability in applications in the field of large-area printed optoelectronics. Emphatically, understanding the relationship between well-defined liquid-crystalline nanostructure and electrical stability on appropriate molecular surface is the determinant to enhancing the performance of organic field-effect transistors (OFETs) comparable to that of amorphous silicon (a-Si). In this talk, we report a novel charge-transfer type liquid-crystalline semiconducting copolymer, which exhibits unprecedented electrical characteristics such as field-effect mobilities as high as 0.33 cm2/Vs and good bias-stress driven electrical stability that is comparable to that of a-Si. |
