제목 Electrospun ultrafine nanofibers of Polymer blends
초록 Electrospinning has been recognized as an efficient technique to obtain ultrafine polymeric nanofibers. A variety of polymers have been successfully electospun into continuous polymeric fibers with micron to submicron diameters.
In this study the fabrication of ultrafine polystyrene (PS) - poly (methyl methacrylate) (PMMA) nano fibers was investigated. For this purpose PS and PMMA were dissolved in (a same solvent) and then the mixture solution was electrospun into fibers. The fibers were, then washed the blended fibers with selective good solvents (i.e. acetic acid for PMMA) to get rid of one polymer out of the blended fibers. The experimental evidence for PS-PMMA blended fibers indicates that the diameter of washed fibers has been drastically reduced as PMMA was discarded from the nano fibers.
We will present systematic studies correlated with size effect as a function of molecular weight, blending ratio and annealing effect. The detail structures were investigated by field emission scanning electron microscope and atomic force microscope.
