We prepared transparent polyimide (PI) and organo-modified graphene oxide nanocom- posite films from the solution of poly(amic acid) and various amounts (1-4 wt%) of organo-modified graphene oxide in N,N-dimethylacetamide (DMAc). The Poly(amic acid) was prepared from the reaction of pyromellitic dianhydride (PMDA) and 4,4´-oxydianiline (ODA). The PI/organo modified graphene oxide nanocomposite films were characterized by Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy, X-ray diffraction, transmission electron microscope and dynamic mechanical analysis. The mechanical properties of the PI/organo modified graphene oxide nanocomposite films were investigated using stress-strain curves using UTM. As the organo-modified graphene oxide contents is increased, PI/organo modified graphene oxide nanocomposites generally show better properties compared to pristine PI films. It is considered that these nanocomposite films are good candidates for potential flexible substrates. |
