제목 Mechanical Properties of Layered Silicate Reinforced Polybutene-1 (PB-1)
초록 Generally, polymer nanocomposites are prepared by three kind of methods which involve in-situ polymerization, solution intercalation and melt processing. In order to achieve excellent mechanical properties of PB-1, we prepared nanocomposites based on PB-1 and layered silicate by simple melt extrusion. We directly observed degree of dispersion of layered silicate within PB-1 matrix through Transmission Electron Microscopy (TEM). Time resolved wide angle X-ray scattering (WAXS) was employed to calculate the domain spacing changes of layered silicate and to investigate the changes of crystal structure for PB-1. We found that dispersed silicate attribute to improved mechanical strength and thermal stability compared to virgin PB-1.
