Experimental conditions, particularly relative humidity, have very strong effects on the structure and properties of polymers. In this work, the effects of relative humidity during solvent annealing on the morphology in block copolymer thin films are systematically investigated. Solvent annealing and subsequent solvent evaporation is known to provide strong directional external field to control the orientation of the microdomains in a specific direction. Combined with this process, controlling the relative humidity can provide additional route to control the orientation and final morphology in block copolymer films. Indeed, various structures can be observed depending on the humidity and possible machanism will be presented. |
