Enhanced Electron Mobility of N-type Conjugated Polymer by External Electric Force Treatment |

Organic field-effect transistors have been extensively researched because of applicability for flexible devices. So, to improve the electrical properties of the OFETs, many studies have been conducted on the morphology control of the active layer. So, in this study, the external electric force treatment, which is non-contact and can control the direction, was conducted to improve the morphology of semiconductor polymer. It was confirmed that can be improved electron mobility of OFETs by applying an external electric force during the formation of film after blade coating to the P(NDI2OD-T2) film, which is well-known for N-type semiconducting polymer. (μe= 1.22→1.98 cm2/Vs) This result can be achieved by aligning the dipole and enhancing the planarity of this semiconducting polymer backbone by applying external electric field. Consequentially, this external electric force treatment can be suggested as an effective way to improve the electrical characteristics of the OFETs. |
