제목 | Multiscale molecular materials for theranostic applications |
초록 | Theranostics has been emerged as a promising therapeutic paradigm taking advantage of the high capacity of nanoplatforms to ferry cargos for both diagnostic imaging and therapeutic functions. The resulting nanosystems, capable of diagnosis, drug delivery and monitoring of therapeutic response, are expected to play a significant role in the dawning era of personalized medicine. In this presentation, multiscale molecular materials that is not limited to the nanoscale but expanded to molecular-nano-bulk levels will be introduced as a new class of theranostic platform. They are molecularly designed to have biological and/or biophotonic functions by using semiconducting and/or peptide scaffolds. Features of targeted cargo delivery, imaging/therapeutic signal amplification and disease-specific functionalization will be discussed, along with their potential biomedical applications to precise imaging and therapy of cancer. |
