제목 Effect of Preparation Conditions on Release Behavior of Alfuzosin-Loaded Polyoxalate Microspheres
초록 Polyoxalate (POX) is a new family of biocompatible and biodegradable polymers used for surgical sutures that was proposed as a matrix for drug delivery. As an experimental model of drug delivery, alfuzosin-loaded POX microspheres were prepared using emulsion-solvent evaporation method (W1/O/W2) by using different molecular weight POX, various solvent ratios (H2O/dichloromethane), emulsifier (polyvinyl alcohol (PVA)) concentrations, and manufacturing temperatures. Morphology and degradation of the alfuzosin-loaded microspheres were measured by scanning electron microscopy. Crystallinity was analyzed by X-ray diffraction and differential scanning calorimetry. In vitro alfuzosin release of the microspheres was measured HPLC while encapsulation efficiency was calculated. Drug release profiles from alfuzosin loaded POX microspheres can be controlled and it has potential for controlled and sustained drug delivery. alfuzosin, polyoxalate(POX) microsphere, W1/O/W2 method.
