Gold/Chitosan composite Nanoparticles for Drug Delivery System with Diagnostic Functionality |

Gold/chitosan composite nanoparticles has been designed and characterized as a drug delivery system with diagnostic functionality. Gold/chitosan composite nanoparticle was prepared by absorbing cationic chitosan molecules on the negative gold nanoparticles surface. For drug loading, Tween 80 containing paclitaxel was absorbed on the surface of gold nanoparticles by hydrophobic interaction. To prepare the nanoparticles in the powdery state, iron gold/chitosan composite nanoparticles were freeze-dried in the Pluronic F-68 aqueous solution. Transmittance Electron Microscopy (TEM) and electrophoretic light scattering (ELS), uv-visible spectroscopy were used to characterize the nanoparticles. As a result, Gold nanoparticles used a diagnostic probe increased stability by Chitosan. Composite nanoparticles show the sustained release of loaded drug. Gold/chitosan composite nanoparticles in this study can be utilized as a drug delivery system for anti-cancer drug with diagnostic functionality. |
