Algal oil extraction using the new type solvent composition |

The algal oil is a promising source for biodiesel production because microalgaes produce large amount of oils rapidly. Extraction of algal oil is regarded key process to reduce cost. We present a new type of recyclable solvent composition to extract oil from microalgae. The miscibility of solvent and triglyceride and free fatty acid were comprehensively studied by varying the composition of mixed solvent system. And oil extraction and fatty acid methylester analysis was conducted using chlamydomonas reinhardtii and chlorella vulgaris. |
