제목 | Tumor microenvironment responsive carbon dots for cancer treatment |
초록 | pH-responsive polymer-based materials can alter their chemical and physical properties with specific pH. The materials are particularly used in tumor microenvironment (TME) which have acidic environments. However, pH-responsive polymers have limitations such as wide distribution of molecular weight, cytotoxicity, tough control of biodegradation, drug loading efficiency and release rate. Carbon dots (C-dots) are nanoparticles made up of organic compounds containing carbon. C-dots are widely used due to easy synthesis, low cost, outstanding biocompatibility, prominent fluorescence. Herein we developed TME responsive carbon dots (TRC) for cancer treatment using microwave for cancer therapy. By synthesizing C-dots with pH-responsive residue, weaknesses can overcome and act specifically only in the tumor environment. Drug release file showed the disruption of TRC in TME. Also, therapeutic effects are proved using various cancer cell lines and tumor bearing mouse model. |
